How are homes in the UK being decarbonised?

Around 80% of UK homes burn natural gas in boilers to stay warm and heat water, producing around 15% of the country’s CO2 emissions. The UK government is legally required to make sure these emissions reduce to net zero by 2050. Although more efficient buildings can achieve around a third of the emission cuts needed, the real challenge is to drive a shift to low carbon heating technologies.
