Government of Germany Ageing

Although Germany (Aaa stable) is less exposed to ESG-related credit risks than most sovereigns, population ageing would weaken our assessment of its fiscal and economic strength over the long term if left unaddressed. Carbon transition and physical climate risks pose additional challenges. Nevertheless, robust governance suggests Germany will develop and implement policies to manage the associated pressures.
