In November 2021, the US government passed the Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act (IIJA) to support the country’s transition to net zero. The act provides funding to projects that will drive economic growth, prepare the economy for the transition to net-zero, and support the development of new technology like hydrogen and carbon capture. The act is also designed to support infrastructure as it allows private investors to act as operators to surface transportation and is expected to create more private activity bond issuance collateralised by infrastructure assets.
