Economic backdrop shapes BlackRock's equities preferences

BlackRock has chosen equities over nominal government bonds and credit because investors are demanding greater compensation for the risk of holding government bonds as inflation is expected to rise further in the medium term. BlackRock also sees an opportunity to add to its already overweighted position on developed market equities due to geopolitical concerns created by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine combined with an economic strategy of recovery.
